Karen Jeng Lin

Piano

Pianist Karen Jeng Lin has performed with Attack Theatre, Wheeling Symphony, Maryland Opera Studio, Chamber Music Pittsburgh, Bach Choir of Pittsburgh, and Junior Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. She is a sought-after collaborator, performing with the likes of Lara Lynn McGill, Daphne Alderson, Rob Frankenberry, Kristina Bachrach, Maureen Conlon-Guterriez, among others.

Karen was the keyboardist for Philip Glass’ Hydrogen Jukebox at Carnegie Mellon University, the rehearsal and pit pianist for the world premiere of Gilda Lyons’ A New Kind of Fallout with Pittsburgh Festival Opera, and rehearsal pianist for Laura Kaminsky’s As One with Pittsburgh Opera. For Ricky Ian Gordon’s 27, Karen provided two of the four hands necessary of an arranged piano reduction for all performances at Pittsburgh Opera.

Karen was named a Distinguished Scholar of the Arts by the State of Maryland and an alternate for Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute program The Song Continues. She is a graduate of Rice University, University of Maryland, and Mannes College of Music. Karen was on the staff of Duquesne University for six years. She is currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University, pursuing an Advanced Musical Studies degree in vocal collaborative piano with Dr. Jocelyn Dueck.
