The PCS 2014 Major auditions were held on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Kresge Theater, School of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University. The adjudicator was Peter Landgren, Dean, The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Dean Landgren chose the following winners who will be presented in three concerts at the Kresge Theater, on September 28, October 19 and November 9, 2014 and will each receive an honorarium from the William and Eleanor Benswanger Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation:
Matisse String Quartet, Christopher Scherer and Erica Richardson, violins, Si Yu, viola and Marlene Ballena, cello.
Dimitri Papadimitriou, piano.
Melissa Stewart and Luis Hernandez, violin and piano duo.
Michael Tsang, piano.
Shanrong Tuo, violin.
Alyssa Wang, violin.
Details about the winning artists and their recitals will be available once scheduling is finalized.
