The Pittsburgh Concert Society's 2015 Young Artists auditions were held on January 10, 2015 at the Kresge Theater, College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University. The adjudicator was Peter Witte, Dean of the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Dean Witte chose the following winners listed in alphabetical order:
J. Oliver Choo, piano, a student of Rodrigo Ojeda, attends Winchester Thurston
Claire Edwards, violin, a student of Rufina Yefimova, home schooled
Elizabeth Edwards, cello, a student of Gregory Bouyanover, home schooled
Ze Kang Guo, piano, a student of Hanna Li, attends North Allegheny Intermidiate High School
Sora Hoppo, piano, a student of Luz Manriquez, attends Franklin Elementary School
Enoch Hsiao, piano, a student of Marina Lupinacci, attends Marshall Middle School
Sophia Lee, harp, a student of Gretchen van Hoesen, attends North Allegheny High School
Rebekah Rest, piano, a student of Natasha Snitkovsky, attends Marshall Middle School.
Each of the winners will be featured in a formal concert on March 15 or 22, 2015 and will receive a Benjamin and Anna Perlow Scholarship. Further details will soon be available on this PCS Web site as concert programming is finalized.
