Rebecca Pfingstl

Harp

Rebecca Pfingstl, 16, has been playing the harp for 5 years, currently studying with Marissa Knaub. Rebecca is the harpist for the Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (PYPO), the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra, and has been the harpist of the Pittsburgh Youth Chamber Orchestra (PYCO),and the CAPA Performing Arts High School's Symphony Orchestra. While with the CAPA Symphony, Rebecca performed as principal harp for CAPA's productions of The Nutcracker, Les Misérables, and The Phantom of the Opera. In 2011, Rebecca was selected as the second prize winner of the McKeesport Symphony's Young Artist competition, with flutist Rebecca Silverstein, for their performance of the second movement of the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto. Rebecca was also chosen to accompany the winner of the 2011 Westmoreland Youth Symphony Concerto competition in the first movement of the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto. Rebecca will also be a soloist with the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra in January, 2013, and will perform Danses Sacrées et Profanes by Claude Debussy for Harp and Orchestra. Rebecca is also a winner of the 2012 Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra's Young Artists' Competition, the first prize winner of the 2012 Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra's Concerto competition, performing the Danses Sacrées et Profanes in March 2012, and the first place winner of the McKeesport Symphony Young Artists' competition. Aside from the harp, Rebecca holds the position of Principal French horn for the Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
