A unique presentation, created and performed by Leslie Amper. Featured will be Schumann’s Kreisleriana. Interspersed between Kreisleriana’s eight movements will be spoken excerpts from their many letters in which Robert and Clara reveal their dreams, struggles and their intense love of music and for each other.
The program will continue with a short silent film, Stolen Heart (Das Gestohlene Herz, 1934), an animation by Lotte Reiniger. The film will be accompanied by Robert Schumann’s piano music, compiled and performed live by Ms. Amper.
Ms. Amper will then conduct a question-answer period from the stage before concluding with more piano music composed by Robert and Clara Schumann.
