Aaron Berger is a junior at Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh. He began studying the violin at age 5 with Carolyn Hill and subsequently with Kate Black. At the end of sixth grade, he joined the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra, where he won the concerto competition playing the Bach Violin Concerto in A minor. The following year, he joined the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he performed in the Palau de la Música Catalana in Spain as the youngest member of the orchestra. In 2018, he played with the National Youth Orchestra, NYO2, and performed at Carnegie Hall and the New World Center in Miami.
For the last four years, Aaron has studied under Hong-Guang Jia. Aaron plays as principal trombone in his high school band and jazz band and is a member of the Pittsburgh all-city ensemble.
