Alan Cline is a dramatic baritone and a frequent performer on both the operatic and concert stages. Some of his most recent opera credits include the title role in Gianni Schicchi at Si parla, si canta in Central Italy, Morales in Carmen with Opera Naples, and The Sacristan in Tosca with Finger Lakes Opera. A frequent competitor, Alan is a two-time winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Pittsburgh District and was a 2018 National Semi-Finalist, performing on stage at the Metropolitan Opera House.
Most recently, he was the Irma Cooper Prize winner at the 2022 National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Auditions and was also awarded the Most Promising Singer Prize. Alan will serve as the Baritone resident artist for Pittsburgh Festival Opera in their 2022 season and with duet partner Lucas Barkley will present performances of Schubert's Winterreise in the greater Pittsburgh area over the coming months. Alan holds a BM in Voice Performance from West Liberty University, a MM in Voice Performance from the Eastman School of Music, and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Musical Arts program at West Virginia University where he studies with Rob Chafin.
