Ariana Chiu, currently a 7th Grader at Fort Couch Middle School in the Upper St. Clair School District, recently appeared on NPR’s ‘From the Top’ Show, broadcasted on Pittsburgh’s WQED 89.3 FM. She has been first prize winner of the solo division at the Duquesne Young Artist National Competition on various occasions, and has also been selected as a Steinway Society of Western PA Young Artist. Ariana became interested in music as a young child listening to Baby Einstein and started piano with her grandmother and father. She currently studies privately with Professor Natasha Snitkovsky. Ariana gives recitals regularly and performs for nursing homes periodically during the year. She enjoys playing music from all different periods, and especially likes playing the works of composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Outside of her musical pursuits, Ariana enjoys camping and watching hockey games.
