Benjamin Lin, age 11, is a 6th-grade student at Hampton Middle School. He first fell in love with piano at age 5 when he took private lessons at the Pittsburgh Music Academy. He is currently a student of Ms. Anne Lin at the L & M Music Studios and has been studying with her since 2018. He won first place in the Elite International Music Competition in both 2021 and 2022. He has been selected to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City last year and will be performing there again this April. In addition to piano, he plays violin for his school orchestra. Outside of music, Ben also enjoys reading, writing, swimming, and playing chess and video games. He is a competitive chess player and is currently ranked top 50 in the US for his age group.
