Candice Gu, born in South Korea, began playing Marimba at the age of ten. She attended Kyung-Hee University in Seoul, and transferred to Duquesne University in 2003.In 2002-03, Miss Gu was assistant percussionist in the Euro-Asian Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in several other professional orchestras in Korea. In 2004, she performed in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s Adult Side-by-Side concert. In 2005 she was awarded second place in the Womens Advisory Board Competition.
Miss Gu is currently in her senior year at Duquesne University and studies with Andy Reamer and Chris Allen.
