Christopher J. Fedor, 16 years old, is a sophomore at North Allegheny Intermediate High School and currently studies cello with Katya Janpoladyan. Chris began his cello studies with Ms. Janpoladyan in the fall of 2011. Before he began playing cello, Chris studied piano with Marina Lupinacci from the age of five. His piano achievements led him to win the Steinway Society of Western PA Young Artist awards in 2010-2012.
Chris is currently a member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Amadeus Quartet, and North Allegheny High School's Chamber Orchestra. He was also a member of the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras, the Pittsburgh Symphony EQT Student Side-by-Side orchestra, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association orchestras, and the North Allegheny High School musical pit orchestra.
In addition to music, Chris has received several scholastic awards, including the President’s Education Award for outstanding academic excellence, the National Junior Honor Society for academic excellence and community involvement, and the North Allegheny Scholar/Athlete awards. Chris plans to double major in chemistry and cello performance in the future.
