Fernando Deddos is a composer and euphonium soloist from South Region of Brazil. He began piano studies at age 4 and brass instruments at age 11 at Santos Anjos School in the town of PortoUnião where he played with night bands and also where he premiered his first orchestral composition (2000). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Conducting and Composition at Parana State School of Music and Fine Arts. Mr. Deddos is the artistic director of the South-Brazilian Tuba-Euphonium Conference.
Mr. Deddos released his debut CD in 2009, titled EuFonium Brasileiro, the very first Euphonium recording in Brazil and it received the prize for best album from the International Tuba-Euphonium Association. In 2012, Deddos was a guest artist in both the International Euphonium Institute in Atlanta, GA, and in the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference in Linz, Austria. Recently, he earned his masters degree at Duquesne University, studying with Mr. Lance Laduke and in 2013-14 Mr. Deddos received an award from the University of Georgia for the doctorate program, to be an assistant / researcher for the Ideas and Creativity Exploration department.
