Born in Japan in December 1995, Inori Sakai moved to Toronto, Canada when she was 6 months old. Three years later, she and her family moved again, this time to Pittsburgh. Inori began playing the violin at age 6 and currently studies with Mr. Hong-Guang Jia. Inori won first place at the Duquesne Young Artist National Competition in 2008. She made her Heinz Hall debut in December 2008 as the featured soloist in the PSO school time concerts. Inori attends the Ellis School, where her favorite subject is math. During her free time, she enjoys drawing, reading, and writing stories.
