Jane Burgess embarked upon her singing career under the guidance of Jack Sheats at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. Presently she studies with Claudia Pinza at Duquesne University. While completing her B.M. in performance at Duquesne, Ms. Burgess also trained at the Ezio Pinza Council for American Songers of Opera program in Oderzo, Italy, for three summers. She has performed many roles with the Duquesne University Opera Workshop including Jackie Onassis in Jackie O, Laurie in The Tenerland, and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi. After graduating with an Artist Diploma from Duquesne University, Ms. Burgess made her debut with the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel in 2003. Currently, Ms. Burgess is performing the role of Pauline in The Toy Shop with the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh's outreach program.
