Jeremy Malvin

Jeremy Malvin is a senior at The Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. Currently, he studies with Juliette Trudeau, Jan Fung, Brandon Schantz, Eliseo Rael, and Roger Humphries. He has been a member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO) since 2006.  In 2008, he won the concerto competition and performed a movement from the “Concertino for Marimba and Orchestra” by Paul Creston with PYSO at Heinz Hall. During the summers, Jeremy has attended the Juilliard Summer Percussion Seminar, Interlochen Arts Camp, the New York University Music Technology Seminar, and the 2008 PYSO tour of China. In addition to classical music, Jeremy has a passion for writing and recording original compositions. He can be seen performing solo electronic music throughout Pittsburgh under the alias Professor Purple. Jeremy plans to continue his music studies next year in college.
