Jo Ellen Miller

Soprano

Jo Ellen Miller, soprano, a New Jersey native and 2001 Young Artist Competition winner, graduated this year from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. While at Carnegie Mellon, she studied with Mildred Miller Posvar and played several roles, including Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus. During the summer of 2002, Miss Miller traveled to Lucca, Italy, to participate in the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca. This summer she sang and danced with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. Miss Miller now attends the University of Michigan for graduate work and is happy to be returning to Pittsburgh for this wonderful opportunity.
