Leigh Poulton

Flute

Leigh Poulton is a freshman at the Mary Pappert School of Music in Duquesne University. She has been playing flute since age 10. She is a member of the Duquesne University Symphony Orchestra, the Duquesne University Contemporary Ensemble, the Duquesne University Flute Choir, the Pittsburgh Flute Club, and the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has attended Carnegie Mellon University’s Precollege Music Program, with studies under the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the City Music Center of Duquesne University’s summer chamber music academy, and the Pittsburgh Symphony Side by Side event in April of 2008. Last year she received the Mt. Lebanon High School String Festival Scholarship, and this year received honorable mention in the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Concerto Competition. She currently teaches privately, and is under the tutelage of Damian Bursill-Hall of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Josie Kost of Duquesne University.
