Leta Chin

Violin

Leta Chin, a Taiwanese American violinist, was born in California to a musical family. She began learning the violin with her mother when she was 3. Ms. Chin made her solo debut with orchestra when she was 14 and was interviewed and asked to perform on Seattle’s Classical King FM. She also received a scholarship from The Dorothy Richard Starling Foundation. In 2012, she won the first prize in the Carnegie Mellon Baroque Concerto Competition and the Young Artist Competition hosted by Taiwan’s Classical Music Association. 

Beginning lessons at the age of 8, Ms. Chin has studied with Nancy Tsung, Margaret Pressley, Ilkka Talvi, Curtis Macomber and Grigory Kalinovsky. She received her Bachelor Degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2010 and is currently studying with Cyrus Forough at Carnegie Mellon School of Music. She has given solo recitals and performances in Germany, Taiwan, New York and Seattle.
