Marie Tachouet and David Bergman

David Bergman, recently completed a Masters degree at Duquesne University where he studied with Pittsburgh Symphony percussionists Andrew Reamer and Chris Allen. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas where he studied with Christopher Deane, and Mark Ford. He also studied with timpanist, Edward Stephan and with South Indian percussionist, Sriji Poovalur. While atNorth Texas he was a recipient of the Jack and Marie Rumbley Orchestral Percussion Scholarship and scholarships from the Percussive Arts Society and the Avedis Zildjian Company. Mr Bergman was named best college timpanist at the 2001 Percussive Arts Society International Competition. He has performed with Portland and Pittsburgh Youth Symphonies, the East Texas Symphony, Butler Symphony, Canton Symphony and the Sibelius Festival Orchestra. He has been a staff accompanist for the Department of Dance at Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts. He also performs with the Mary Miller Dance Company where he plays in programs especially designed for deaf children. Mr. Bergman currently studies at Cleveland State University under Tom Freer.

Marie Tachouet is a graduate assistant and fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, where she studies with Jeanne Baxtresser and Alberto Almarza. Ms Tachouet earned her bachelor's degree in flute performance from the University of Michigan, where she graduated summa cum laude in April 2006. An associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and recent finalist in principal flute auditions for the Kansas City and Tucson Symphony Orchestras, she has performed with the New World Symphony, Detroit Civic Symphony Orchestra, and Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic orchestras. While at Michigan, she performed in Carnegie Hall with the Symphony Band in 2005 and with Leonard Slatkin and the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra on the Grammy-award winning recording of William Bolcom's Songs of Innocence and Experience. Ms Tachouet studied at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara,CA in 2005 and 2006 and will spend summer 2007 at the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox,MA.

Marie and David met in June 2006 at the Music Academy of the West.
