Melissa Knight, Karen Bea and Bo Cheng have been playing together as a trio for a year and a half. Melissa freelances locally, playing with such groups as the Westmoreland Symphony, the Johnstown Symphony and the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra. She studied flute with Robert Langevin at Duquesne University, and Julius Baker at Carnegie Mellon University. Melissa was an alternate in the National Flute Association Orchestral Excerpts Competition, a winner of the Westmoreland Symphony Young Artist Competition and the Silberman Chamber Music Competition at CMU.
