Prakhar Kiran

Piano

Prakhar Kiran is a sophomore at the North Allegheny School District. Prakhar started learning Piano in 2014, and has been studying under Ms. Luz Manriquez at Carnegie Mellon University School of Music since 2017. He has participated in multiple national and international piano competitions since 2019 and won many awards in both solo and duet categories. He made his debut at the Carnegie Hall of Music in New York at 10. Most recently Prakhar played at the Mozarthaus in Vienna, Austria at the Pittsburgh International Piano Festival. Prakhar has also been a Steinway Young Artist since 2019, and has been selected multiple times to hold Honors Lobby Recital at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh. Prakhar has additionally won an award with the very competitive Streator-Smith Piano Competition.

Prakhar has also been studying the Vocal Indian Classical Music form since he was 6, frequently performs in recitals and completed with honors the Praveshita/ Introductory level Diploma Certification conducted by Pandit Jasraj School of Music, New Jersey. Besides music, Prakhar is keenly interested in Robotics and is part of a national award-winning Robotics team. He has participated successfully in First Robotics Competition, First Tech Challenge as well as First Lego Leagues since 5th grade, winning multiple awards including a Western PA Regional Championship for Innovation Project in 2021. Prakhar is also active with DECA clubs at school and has won multiple times at regional levels, allowing him to participate at the state level. Prakhar enjoys volunteering with STEM initiatives, and in 2019 created a house concert series platform for like-minded kids and family’s participation with their classical music interests, that is still going strong. He also enjoys playing Tennis, is an avid reader, and has participated and won awards in the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair as well as Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science. Currently growing his hair out in his teenage years, Prakhar is always found with a friendly smile.
