Rishi Mirchandani

Piano

Rishi Mirchandani is a sophomore at Fox Chapel Area High School, and studies piano with Professor Luz Manriquez of CMU. He has won three gold medals and a Grand Prize at the World Piano Competition, Cincinnati (2008 to 2012). He has performed three times at Carnegie Hall, New York, in 2008, 2010, and 2012. He has performed as a soloist with the World Festival Orchestra, Cincinnati (2012), and with the McKeesport Symphony Orchestra as a 2010 Steinway Young Artist. He will perform with the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra in April 2013 as their Concerto Competition winner. Rishi has also had the privilege of participating in master classes with world-renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang in 2008 and with acclaimed Israeli maestro Isaac Steiner in 2012. Besides music, Rishi also enjoys writing. His satire was recently published in Scholastic’s 2012 Anthology of Best Teen Writing. Rishi has won accolades in regional and state level science competitions. He is an active member of Fox Chapel Area High’s Forensics and Cricket clubs.
