Skyler Moon is 14 years old and is a freshman at North Catholic High School. She fell in love with the sound of the harp after listening to the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra perform. She started taking harp lessons with Ms. Gretchen Van Hoesen at age 8.
Prior to harp, she played piano for about 3 years. Skyler played in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s Side-By-Side concert in 2016, was chosen as one of the winners of Duquesne Young Artist National Competition in 2017, and placed second in the Lois Streator and Lois Smith Memorial Competition in 2018. She has been the harpist for the Three River Young Peoples Orchestra since 2015. Besides harp and music, Skyler has a passion for arts and enjoys playing tennis.
