Songela Chen is a tenth grade student at the North Allegheny Intermediate High School. She has studied piano for seven years. Songela has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City as a winner of the Cincinnati World Piano Competition in 2010 and 2012. She also gave a preconcert recital at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh as a Steinway Society Young Artist Award Winner in January of this year. In addition to piano, Songela enjoys participating in science projects and language clubs. She runs long-distance in her spare time. Songela would like to thank her piano teacher, Professor Hanna Wu Li, for being the most influential teacher in her life.
