Sonomi Sakai is a native of Kyoto, Japan and a graduate from Aichi University of Music and Fine Arts with a diploma in Piano Performance. In 1999 she moved to Pittsburgh after living in Toronto, Canada for 3 years. She is currently the Pianist / Organist at First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood.
Ms. Sakai's mentors includes Shizu Umeda, Yuzo Mizumoto, Noel Flores, and jazz mentor Dr. James T. Johnson Jr. at Afro-American Music Institute in Pittsburgh.
