Formed in 2016, the Tartan Trio is composed of Carnegie Mellon School of Music undergraduate students flutist Aydan Hensley, violist Brandon Foster, and harpist Mia Venezia. All in their third year, Adyan studies with Alberto Almarza and is pursuing her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Flute Performance. Brandon studies with David Harding and is involved in interdisciplinary studies with music and medicine, pursuing a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biological Sciences and Viola Performance, while Mia studies with Gretchen Van Hoesen and is pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Harp Performance. The group has performed publicly in several different venues, varying from the halls of Carnegie Mellon School of Music’s Kresge Theater to the historic parks of Philadelphia. Together, the Tartan Trio endeavors to continue giving performances to avid chamber music lovers, as well as the general public, in this unique ensemble.
