William Wang is currently a senior at North Allegheny Senior High School. This marks his second time winning the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Auditions, after previously winning in 2017 as a soloist. He has also won the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra and Pittsburgh Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competitions, and subsequently performed as a soloist with both orchestras. Other notable performances include his performance of Sarasate’s Navarra duet with his teacher, Ms. Monique Mead, and the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra. He has also served as the first violinist of the Appalachian Piano Trio.
Outside of violin, William is a huge enthusiast for all types of sports. He was a member of his 8th grade school basketball team, and continues to engage in basketball and other sports constantly. He also loves to play chess, and looks forward to playing the piano again.
