Zanna Fredland

Mezzo Soprano

Zanna Fredland is a 1999 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, with a BFA in voice. While at CMU, Zanna appeared as Poppea in The Coronation of Poppea and as the Second Spirit in The Magic Flute. She was also seen there in productions of Suor Isabella, Amelia Goes to the Ball, and The Merry Widow. Zanna has performed extensively in both musical theater and operetta, including a season with the Ohio Light Opera. Roles include Katisha in The Mikado and Hedy La Rue in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, both with the College Light Opera Company in Falmouth, Massachussets. She has appeared locally as Rose in The Secret Garden, Emilia Hernandez in Working, and as Phoebe Meryll in the Pittsburgh Savoyards' Yeomen of the Guard. Zanna was a 1998 recipient of a Tuesday Musical Club scholarship, and currently studies with Beatrice Krebs.
