Carolyn Carr, violinCarolyn Carr, a junior at North Allegheny Senior High School, started playing violin when she was 9 years old and began taking private lessons when she was 12. She was concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra (PYCO) in 2016 – 2017, and won the PYCO Violin Concerto Competition in 2017. She now participates in PYSO, where she has served as second violin principal and assistant principal. Carolyn is currently concertmaster of the North Allegheny Honors Chamber orchestra. She also performed as concertmaster and soloist for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 1 Honors Orchestra in 2017 and the PMEA Western Region Orchestra in 2018. She went on to perform in the PMEA All-State Orchestra in 2018 and has been accepted into the 2019 All-East Orchestra. In her spare time, she plays for weddings and church services. Carolyn especially likes chamber music, and enjoys performing with her friends in the Vivo String Quartet.
