Katie Liu

Piano

Katie Liu, ten years old, is a fifth grader at David E. Williams Middle School in Montour School District. She started the piano in a group class at City Music Center of Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music when she was four and a half. Since the age of five, she has been studying with Natasha Snitkovsky.

In 2010, Katie won the First Prize in the 2010 Duquesne Young Artist National Competition, Piano Solo Division, Ages 6-9. In 2012, she won the Second Place in the 2012 Duquesne Young Artist National Competition, Piano Solo Division, Ages 10-12. She was also selected by the Steinway Society’s Young Artist Program to play at a pre-concert recital in the Heinz Hall lobby. In 2013, she won the First Place in the 2013 Duquesne Young Artist National Competition, Piano Solo Division, Ages 10-12.

Besides piano, Katie also plays violin. In addition to music, Katie enjoys reading, dancing, drawing, figure skating, and playing games.
