Nathan Magley

Clarinet

Nathan Magley is a Senior at Pittsburgh’s CAPA High School and is currently auditioning for musical schools where he hopes to continue his studies in the fall. He has played three years in the clarinet section of PYSO (Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra) and toured with the group to Spain on 2016. He has also played chamber music with the Youth Chamber Connection since 2015. Nathan’s summer studies have included time at Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute, Carnegie Mellon University’s Pre-College Program, the Clarinet Academy of America, and New York University’s Summer Institute for Woodwinds.

Nathan has won: The Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh Young Artist Concerto Competition (2017), The Pittsburgh Philharmonic Young Artist Concerto Competition (2019), and the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Competition. Nathan studies with retired Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Clarinetist, Thomas Thompson.
