Sun Chang

Piano

Sun Chang is a Korean-American pianist and harpsichordist. She earned her Bachelor's in Piano Performance from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University and a Master's in Historical Performance and harpsichord from the Royal Academy of Music in London.

In March 2020, when any semblance of a stable professional life was torn from many musicians, Sun was ready to find a place to settle and grow. Having visited Pittsburgh many times in the past, she decided that this would be an excellent place to put down roots. She now has a studio of diligent little pianists and works with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. She is looking forward to discovering more of this city.

In the "before times" she enjoyed a varied career which included chamber, recital, and solo work. She has soloed with the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra, Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Chicago, Utah Symphony, and Philharmonia Northwest. She gave solo and collaborative recitals at the Chicago Cultural Centre, and was a featured artist on "Live from WFMT", where her two-hour recital was broadcast live. Sun has also traveled and performed on Holland America Line's cruise ships as part of the Lincoln Center Stage Piano Quintet. For more information regarding her musical life, visit sunchangmusic.com
Other things Sun is passionate about include: sharing music by underrepresented composers, making vegan Korean food, enjoying time in nature, dogs, and B-movies
